The Italians have found a new way of saving money – using bicycles instead of cars. Thousands of people have abandoned their Ferraris and Lamborghinis for bicycles because they help economize on gas and beat traffic.
According to Italy’s government, bicycle sales hit the one-million 650 thousand mark. It means that a quarter-million more bicycles were sold than cars. Bike shops are opening all over the country, and the oldest ones are prospering. The only problem is that Italy’s city are not adapted to bikes: there are no special lanes, too many cars, etc. However, the Italians hope that the situation will change soon.
